Combined Community Services conducts background checks on all volun-teer applicants. Your drivers license number and date of birth are request-ed by CCS in order to expedite a criminal background check. Wheels of Hope drivers not only provide a means for clients to get to their critical cancer treatments, but offer a safe, supportive ride along the way. The Canadian Cancer Society’s Wheels of Hope Transportation Program provides people living with cancer rides to and from their cancer treatment appointments. Dedicated volunteer drivers donate their time and use their own (or Society owned) vehicles to help people living with cancer get to the hospital or cancer centre.


Cumberland County Schools will no longer allow a student to enroll in a Driver Education course if the student has previously attended more than 4 hours of the classroom phase and dropped out or failed the course. By North Carolina Law, students who are 18 years old or older are not required to take Driver Education. Volunteer Services, a program of Catholic Community Services Western Washington (CCSWW), operates its’ transportation programs and services without regard to race, color, and national origin in accordance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act. Our fleet includes wheelchair-accessible buses, passenger vans, and cars driven by our dedicated staff and volunteer drivers, allowing you to stay active and connected to your community, with day trips to wellness and social service programs, day programs, medical appointments, therapy, lifesaving treatments, weekly grocery shopping, Senior Centre, CCS Programs, and destinations such as Evolve Clothing and Evolve Lifestyle, the Exchange, the Vera Davis Centre and visits to family.


Our driving program connects people who need transportation to cancer treatments with volunteer drivers. Our drivers are trained to provide safe and reliable.
